Nissan India has just launched the new Nissan Tekton SUV in the Indian market with prices starting from Rs 10.49 lakh (ex-showroom). Interested customers can book the new Tekton online or by visiting their nearest dealerships by paying Rs 21,000, and deliveries will start from July 20. The SUV will compete with the Renault Duster, Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Victoris, Volkswagen Taigun and other mid-size SUVs in the Indian market. The new Tekton shares its platform with the new Renault Duster and will be manufactured at Renault’s facility in Tamil Nadu. The Renault Duster is offered in five variants – authentic, evolution, techno, techno plus and iconic with prices ranging from Rs 10.29 lakh to Rs 18.09 lakh (both prices ex-showroom). The starting price of Rs 10.29 lakh was applicable for customers who pre-booked their cars by March 2026; after that, the standard price starts from Rs 10.49 lakh (ex-showroom). The Nissan Tekton is available in six variants, one more than the Renault Duster’s five, and is priced up to Rs 50,000 higher across the lineup.

Nissan Tekton vs Renault Duster: DimensionsBoth the 2026 Nissan Tekton and the 2026 Renault Duster are based on the Renault-Nissan CMF-B modular platform. However, they differ slightly in their overall dimensions. The Tekton measures 4,348mm in length, 1,815mm in width and 1,674mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,657mm. In comparison, the Duster is identical in length at 4,348mm and shares the same 2,657mm wheelbase, but is 2mm narrower at 1,813mm and 18mm shorter in height at 1,656mm.

Nissan Tekton vs Renault Duster: Engine optionsThe new Nissan Tekton and the Renault Duster get identical engine options – a 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder turbo petrol with 100hp, 166Nm of torque and comes paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox only. Another engine option is a 1.3-litre, 4-cylinder turbo petrol which puts out 163hp, 280Nm, and comes paired either with a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed dual-clutch automatic (DCT). The Duster, on the other hand, will additionally be offered with a 1.8-litre strong hybrid petrol engine with 109 hp, paired with a 49hp electric motor and a 20hp hybrid starter generator (HSG), paired with a 1.4kWh (280V) battery. Together, this configuration delivers a combined system output of 160hp and 172Nm. This hybrid powertrain will be launched this festive season.
