‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ has officially surpassed James Cameron’s Titanic at the worldwide box office, becoming the fourth highest-grossing film of all time.

The Tom Holland-led superhero film, directed by Destin Daniel Cretton and co-starring Zendaya, crossed the milestone on August 28 following a strong run at the global box office. The film reportedly earned another USD 39 million domestically and USD 109 million internationally during its fourth weekend, taking its worldwide gross beyond the USD 2.3 billion mark.

According to the latest updates, ‘Brand New Day’ has now taken in a massive USD 2.2 billion worldwide, officially sinking James Cameron’s ‘Titanic’ to emerge as the fourth highest-grossing film ever at the global box office.Now only ‘Avatar: The Way of Water’ (USD 2.33 billion), ‘Avengers: Endgame’ (USD 2.79 billion), and the first ‘Avatar’ (USD 2.92 billion) stand in Spidey’s way.

Domestically, ‘Brand New Day’ also climbed to No. 2 on the all-time list, behind ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’. With ‘Titanic’ now behind it, the film has its sights set on ‘Ne Zha 2’, the 2025 Chinese animated blockbuster that currently sits ahead of it with a worldwide gross of approximately USD 2.2 billion. The gap between the two films is reportedly around USD 50 million, thus setting Holland’s Spider-Man to take over the box office.

The latest achievement marks the end of an impressive run for Titanic, which has remained among the world’s highest-grossing films for nearly three decades.
