Both directors have built decades-long careers around large-scale, mass-appeal cinema, and the mere possibility of them coming together has been enough to get fans talking.

According to a report by Cinema Express, AR Murugadoss is said to be in discussions over a story developed by Shankar’s writing team. However, several key details remain unclear at this stage — including whether the conversations are geared toward a full feature film or are still confined to an early story development phase. There’s also no clarity yet on what role Shankar himself might play in the project, whether limited to writing or extending to a larger creative capacity. Reports have also suggested he may take up an action thriller as an interim project before moving into the larger Velpari venture.
