The Great Khali escapes unhurt after accident in Panipat; calls it 'No Big Deal'

Dalip Singh, the professional wrestler better known as The Great Khali, escaped unhurt after his SUV was involved in a collision with another vehicle at a toll plaza in Panipat, Haryana, on Saturday. Taking to social media on Sunday, he put fans’ worries to rest, calling the incident “no big deal” and confirming he escaped without any injuries.

Khali reassures fans on social media

Taking to his social media handle, Khali shared a selfie video reassuring fans that he was fine after the accident, saying he’d received numerous calls and messages checking on his wellbeing. He confirmed he was completely okay, crediting the blessings of well-wishers and God, and noted that while his car suffered minor damage, “it’s no big deal.” He added that he hadn’t intended for the incident to become public knowledge since it wasn’t serious, but videos of it had circulated online regardless. He went on to thank fans for their concern, urging them to take care of themselves and signing off with “Jai Bharat!”.

Video of Khali’s accident surfaces online

The clip that emerged over the weekend captured Khali stepping out of his damaged SUV at the Panipat toll plaza and walking towards another vehicle. Though he appeared unharmed in the clip, news of the crash still left fans worried. He subsequently turned to social media to put those concerns to rest, confirming he’d come out of the incident unscathed.

Khali’s journey after leaving WWE

After exiting WWE in 2014, Khali went on to establish the Continental Wrestling Entertainment (CWE), a wrestling promotion and training academy based in his hometown of Jalandhar, Punjab. He continued making occasional special appearances for WWE over the following years, before being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2021.

Khali’s career beyond wrestling

Beyond WWE, The Great Khali has also carved out a career in Indian film and television. He appeared as a contestant on ‘Bigg Boss 4’ in 2010, finishing as the first runner-up, and has featured in a handful of Hindi and Hollywood films, starting with his acting debut in Peter Segal‘s 2005 sports comedy ‘The Longest Yard’. In 2022, he also joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
