Akshay Kumar expresses concern as Rajesh Sharma rushed to the hospital after insect bite on the set of Prabhas starrer 'Fauzi', prays for his recovery

Actor Akshay Kumar has expressed concern over Rajesh Sharma’s health after the veteran actor was hospitalised following a suspected insect bite during the shoot of Prabhas’ ‘Fauji’ at Hyderabad’s Ramoji Film City.On Thursday evening, Akshay took to X to share a photograph with Sharma and wished him a speedy recovery. “Very concerned to hear about my dear friend Rajesh’s health condition after an insect bite while shooting. Hope Mahadev blesses him with fast and complete recovery. Jaldi theek ho ja yaar, abhi saath baith ke bhot hansna hai,” he wrote.Rajesh Sharma was recently admitted to Manipal Hospital in Kolkata after his condition reportedly worsened following the incident. Filmmaker and television host Sudipa Chatterjee shared a health update on Instagram, revealing that after completing his shoot at Ramoji Film City, Sharma had been chatting with local technicians in an area surrounded by dense vegetation when he was bitten by an insect.Initially dismissing it as a minor bite, the actor did not seek medical attention. However, according to Chatterjee, nearly six hours later he began experiencing severe pain in his right leg. His condition reportedly deteriorated further while he was on a flight to Kolkata, where he developed a high fever. After landing, he was rushed to the hospital for treatment.Meanwhile, the All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) has written to Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, demanding a high-level investigation into the incident. In its letter, the association said, “Considering the gravity of his condition, AICWA believes that a thorough, independent and transparent investigation into the circumstances that led to this medical emergency during the shooting of Fauji is absolutely essential. If Actor Rajesh Sharma’s condition became so serious during the shoot, why was he not immediately admitted to one of Hyderabad’s leading hospitals by the producer and production house? Was adequate emergency medical assistance available on the set? Were all mandatory health, hygiene and workplace safety protocols being followed?”The association has sought clarity on whether the production house had adequate medical infrastructure and workplace safety measures in place during the shoot.
