Mbappe made his World Cup debut as a 19-year-old at Russia 2018, helping France lift the trophy in a stunning 4-2 final victory over Croatia, becoming the first teenager since Pele to score in a World Cup final in the process. He returned in Qatar 2022, winning the Golden Boot with eight goals despite France’s heartbreaking final defeat to Argentina on penalties. Now in 2026, he arrives at the quarterfinals with seven goals already to his name, sitting just two behind Lionel Messi in the Golden Boot race.Twenty appearances. Three World Cups.
