Airbus ties up with Nagpur's Indamer Technics to set up South Asia’s first radome repair facility in India
Airbus selects Indamer Technics to set up South Asia’s first radome repair facility in Nagpur to boost regional MRO support.

NEW DELHI: European aerospace major Airbus has selected Indamer Technics to set up South Asia region’s first comprehensive radome repair facility in Nagpur, India, strengthening its regional aftermarket support. Under this service agreement, Airbus has designated Indamer Technics as an authorised facility for the extensive repair, storage, and exchange of the Airbus A320, A330, A350, and A380 aircraft radomes in the region.Prajay Patel, Indamer Technics director, said: “Being selected by Airbus to set up this facility is a strong endorsement of Indamer Technics’ quality and engineering capabilities, and we are proud to bring this expertise to Nagpur. Safety and precision are at the core of everything we do, and we are committed to meeting Airbus’ exacting certification standards on every radome we handle. This agreement marks an important next step in our vision to establish India as a self-reliant, world-class hub for aerospace MRO, and we look forward to deepening this partnership as the region’s fleet continues to grow.” This agreement with Indamer Technics is a major milestone in our commitment to building a robust, localised aerospace ecosystem in India. By bringing these essential maintenance capabilities directly to Nagpur, we are supporting govt of India’s ‘Make in India’ mission and fostering greater self-reliance in the country’s aviation MRO sector. As the region prepares for unprecedented fleet expansion, this facility will ensure we can support our customers with significantly reduced turnaround times, keeping their aircraft flying efficiently. The initiative further establishes a solid platform for future repair pipelining, opening the way for the continued expansion of the Airbus repair network as it serves one of the world’s fastest-growing aviation markets,” said Jürgen Westermeier, President and Managing Director, Airbus in India and South Asia.Airbus says this collaboration serves as a foundational step in developing a localised Airbus avionics repair network across South Asia. It will significantly support customer operations ahead of upcoming widebody inductions while optimising single-aisle maintenance across the region.Positioned at the nose cone of an aircraft, a radome is a structural, weatherproof enclosure that safeguards radar and antenna systems against demanding environmental conditions and aerodynamic stresses. Built from advanced materials, it protects sensitive onboard equipment from hazards such as hail, impact and bird strikes, all without disrupting the transmission or reception of electromagnetic signals.Indamer Technics is a wholly owned subsidiary of Horizon Aero Solutions Limited, a 50-50 venture between Adani Defence & Aerospace and Prime Aero.As per the agreement, all Airbus programme radomes for the A320, A330, A350 and A380 families will be serviced locally at Indamer’s Nagpur facility. This includes full structural inspections and testing, complete paint-stripping, repainting and curing processes, execution of both major and minor repairs and advanced Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) and certification for Release to Service (RTS).
