Iceland Cricket has taken a cheeky swipe at Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Mohsin Naqvi, using an imaginary cricketing challenge to mock the board’s recent selection decisions and the growing criticism surrounding its administration.The Iceland Cricket account, known for its humorous and often sarcastic posts on X, took aim at Naqvi amid a turbulent period for Pakistan cricket. The post appeared to reference the PCB’s controversial decisions during the ongoing Test series against England, as well as Naqvi’s recent comments while defending the board’s actions.“We are going to launch a new cricketing challenge for coastal cricketers. Clear an iceberg and you win an all-expenses paid educational trip to meet Mohsin Naqvi and learn about selection strategy. Trip can be one-way if you wish,” Iceland Cricket wrote on X.The joke comes days after Pakistan made a dramatic overhaul of their Test squad following two heavy defeats against England. The PCB released seven players from the tour and replaced head coach Sarfaraz Ahmed ahead of the third Test, with white-ball coach Mike Hesson taking charge of the red-ball side. Bowling coach Umar Gul was also replaced by Ashley Noffke.Mohammad Rizwan, Imam-ul-Haq, Salman Ali Agha, Ali Usman, Aamir Jamal, Muhammad Awais Zafar and Khurram Shahzad were among those released from the squad after Pakistan went 2-0 down in the three-match series.Earlier, following Pakistan’s defeat at Lord’s, the team attended a dinner with King Charles. Naqvi’s India-Ireland remark draws attention

Naqvi has also faced criticism over his response to questions surrounding Pakistan’s performances and the PCB’s decisions.While defending the changes, the PCB chairman pointed to India’s recent T20I defeat against Ireland and questioned whether that meant “cricket had ended”. His comments were intended to argue that even leading teams can suffer unexpected defeats and that Pakistan’s setbacks should not be viewed as the end of the country’s cricketing fortunes.
