Aubrey Plaza has sold the Los Angeles home she once shared with her late husband, filmmaker Jeff Baena, for $4.375 million, according to property records obtained by TMZ. The deal closed on Friday, with Plaza selling the property for less than the $4.7 million she and Baena paid for it in October 2022.The sale comes weeks after Plaza and actor Christopher Abbott welcomed their first child together, a baby girl, in July. Plaza was recently spotted in New York City holding their newborn after attending Abbott’s final performance in the Broadway revival of Death of a Salesman.
Property struggled to find a buyer
According to Realtor, the Spanish-style compound had initially hit the market in September 2025 for $6.5 million, around eight months after Baena died by suicide at the property in January 2025. The home was subsequently pulled from the market shortly before Christmas and later relisted for $5.75 million.The property went through further price adjustments, with the asking price eventually reaching $5.3 million in May after an earlier deal reportedly fell through. Reports in March had suggested that the home had found a buyer, but the transaction collapsed by mid-May. It was subsequently relisted on May 21.Despite the property’s multiple reductions, Plaza ultimately sold it for $4.375 million, about $325,000 less than what she and Baena had paid for the home.

Plaza and Baena had been together since 2011 and largely kept their relationship away from the public eye. Plaza confirmed their marriage in a May 2021 Instagram post, referring to Baena as her “darling husband.”The couple separated in September 2024, when they began taking time apart.Baena was found dead inside the Los Feliz property on January 3, 2025, at the age of 47. The Los Angeles County Coroner later ruled his death a suicide.Speaking about her grief months later, Plaza described the loss as a “giant ocean of awfulness” during an appearance on comedian Amy Poehler’s Good Hang podcast.She also opened up about the difficulty of coping with the loss, saying that while she was functioning and grateful to be moving through the world, it remained a “daily struggle.”

Plaza rose to fame with her breakthrough role as April Ludgate on the NBC sitcom Parks and Recreation, which ran from 2009 to 2015. She later earned critical acclaim for her performance in the FX series Legion, which aired from 2017 to 2019.She starred in the second season of HBO’s The White Lotus in 2022, earning nominations for both a Primetime Emmy Award and a Golden Globe Award.Plaza made her film debut in Mystery Team in 2009 and went on to appear in Scott Pilgrim vs. the World (2010). She landed her first leading film role in Safety Not Guaranteed (2012).In 2017, Plaza expanded into producing, backing projects including the dark comedies The Little Hours and Ingrid Goes West.
