India’s shooting medal streak continued at the Asian Games on Monday, with Rudrankksh Patil, Himanshu Dhillon and Parth Mane clinching silver in the men’s 10m air rifle team event. Rudrankksh, Himanshu qualify for individual final
The qualification round also saw two Indian shooters book their places in the men’s 10m air rifle individual final.Rudrankksh led the Indian challenge, finishing third in the qualification standings with an impressive score of 631.8 points. Himanshu also progressed to the final after securing seventh place with 630.0 points. Parth, meanwhile, narrowly missed out on a place in the individual final, finishing 10th overall with a score of 628.3 points.
China break world record to clinch gold
China, featuring Olympic champion Sheng Lihao alongside Ma Sihan and Zhang Changhong, produced a commanding performance to claim the gold medal with a combined score of 1899.0 points, setting a new qualification world record.The men’s team silver added to India’s strong start in shooting at the Games. The women’s 10m air rifle team of Elavenil Valarivan, Sonam Maskar and Vidarsa Vinod had also secured silver on the opening day, with Elavenil subsequently adding another silver in the individual event.India had finished with a record 22-medal haul in shooting at the Hangzhou Asian Games, winning seven gold, nine silver and six bronze medals.
