Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds’ plans for a sprawling 110-acre estate in New York have taken years to complete, with the unfinished property becoming the subject of more than $2.1 million in contractor claims earlier this year.The couple began acquiring land in Lewisboro, New York, through an LLC in 2018. Property records cited in reports show that they eventually assembled six adjoining parcels covering about 110 acres. The project was planned as a private family compound with a large main residence and several additional facilities.Lively spoke about the property during a Board meeting in 2022. She said she and Reynolds wanted to build an environmentally conscious home and described the area warmly. At the time, she said they were excited about living on the land and raising their family there.Plans for the estate included a 14,500-square-foot main house, a pool house, a separate gym and geothermal systems. The development was designed with sustainability in mind, while existing structures on parts of the property were also expected to remain.However, construction later ran into financial disputes with contractors. In April 2026, five contractors and subcontractors filed mechanics’ liens against the property, with the combined claims reportedly amounting to about $2.1 million.According to the reports, the company sought more than $1.35 million for work reportedly involving framing, HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical work, drywall, masonry, waterproofing, painting and millwork. Other claims involved areas including copper roofing, structural steel, drainage, septic work and geothermal excavation.Reports indicated that construction on the estate had slowed toward the end of 2025 and stopped sometime around late 2025 or early 2026. Neither Lively nor Reynolds publicly explained the reason for the construction halt.The contractor dispute, however, did not remain unresolved. TMZ reported in June 2026, citing mechanics’ liens, that the combined $2.1 million in claims had been satisfied as of May 26. There was no immediate confirmation of when construction on the estate would resume.The Lewisboro property is separate from the couple’s existing country home in nearby Pound Ridge, which they purchased years earlier. The new estate was envisioned as a larger family retreat and has remained a long-term project for the couple since they began assembling the land in 2018.
