Tamil films including Karthik Subbaraj‘s rural drama ‘Dorothy’ and Hiphop Tamizha Adhi’s ‘Meesaya Murukku 2’ were released on the big screens last Friday, September 25. As both the films are enjoying a good run at the box office, let’s take a look at their day 4 collections.
‘Dorothy’ Day 4 box office collection
‘Dorothy’ starring Keerthy Suresh, Sananth and Rishikanth in leading roles collected Rs 85 lakh net in India on Monday as per trade analyst Sacnilk. The figure was recorded across 770 shows. The movie registered 33.0% overall occupancy on its fourth day. Being a first weekday, the film’s collection dropped. Monday’s collection was 39.3% lower than the Rs 1.40 crore earned on Sunday.Speaking of their individual collections, the film opened to Rs 90 lakh at the box office. Later the numbers increased to Rs 1.25 crore and further to Rs 1.40 crore, making its first weekend total to Rs 3.55 crore.
‘Dorothy’ occupancy
The Tamil 2D version of ‘Dorothy’ recorded 33.43% overall occupancy on Monday. Morning shows registered 18.62% occupancy. The figure increased to 31.08% during afternoon shows. Evening shows recorded 39.15% occupancy. Night shows followed with 43.77%.‘Dorothy’ marks Karthik Subbaraj’s 10th feature film as a director. Ilaiyaraaja has composed the original soundtrack and background score of the film.
‘Meesaya Murukku 2’ day 4 box office numbers
On the other hand, Hiphop Tamizha Adhi’s ‘Meesaya Murukku 2’ registered better numbers despite being a Monday. According to Sacnilk, the movie collected Rs 2.65 crore net total across 1,640 shows on Sunday. Although, the Day 4 figure was 57.6% decrease than Saturday’s Rs 6.25 crore, the numbers show a positive sign that it will further increase.
‘Meesaya Murukku 2’ weekend collection
On its first day, the film made over Rs 3.30 crore. Later on Saturday the film’s performance got much better as it made Rs 4.80 crore and Rs 6.25 crore on Sunday, making a total of Rs 14.35 over the weekend.
‘Meesaya Murukku 2’ occupancy
The Tamil 2D version of the film recorded 34.0% overall occupancy on Monday. Morning shows registered 22.69% occupancy. The figure increased to 34.00% during afternoon shows.
