Dalal Street is set for a crucial session after the benchmark indices extended their losses in the previous sessions. The market outlook remains shaped by elevated crude oil prices, persistent foreign fund selling, currency movements and global rate expectations.

Domestic equities have faced correction-led headwinds, with continued FII outflows and elevated US Treasury yields adding to the pressure. Rupee’s trajectory remains linked to oil prices, dollar strength, global risk appetite and developments around US-Iran contacts.

On the domestic front, industrial output growth rose to 8% from 7.4% in the preceding month, led by manufacturing. Global cues remain mixed, with US equities ending lower, European markets trading higher and Asian benchmarks moving in different directions. China’s targeted credit-easing measures and mortgage support also remain key regional factors.
