Mukesh Khanna is all set to appear in the upcoming film ‘Vishwaguru’. The veteran actor said he chose the project because of its story and the message it carries. Khanna is known for being selective about the films he signs.

Why Mukesh Khanna chose ‘Vishwaguru’

Speaking to ANI, Mukesh Khanna said he agreed to the film after finding its subject interesting. “There are many stories in the film. And it was even more interesting for me to work in this film,” he said. He recalled that his last film to release on a big scale was Dev Anand‘s ‘Censor’.

Mukesh Khanna on not doing films often

Explaining why he is not seen in films more often, Mukesh Khanna said he does not go looking for acting work. “People often ask why I don’t do films, and my response is that I don’t look for jobs. If I get a good role, I will do it,” he said.The actor shared that language was an initial concern when the makers approached him. After hearing the story, he told them he did not speak Gujarati. The makers then said his dialogues would be in Hindi.“I found the story of ‘Vishwaguru’ very interesting. After hearing the story, I told them that I don’t speak Gujarati. It was then that I was told to speak Hindi in the entire film,” the actor said.

A film with a message

Mukesh Khanna said the film is not only about its plot but also carries a social message. “This film has a story and also a message. Not only the youth, but the parents must also watch it. The leaders, those who run the education of our country, the education ministers, should see it,” he said.He also claimed that ‘Vishwaguru’ points to what he sees as problems faced by the country and its people.Further details about the film have not been announced yet.
