Tamil star Dhanush and Malayalam superstar Mammootty are currently shooting his upcoming action entertainer ‘Om,’ directed by Rajkumar Periasamy. According to the latest updates, the film’s final shooting schedule has reportedly begun in Malaysia.

Final schedule of ‘Om’ begins in Malaysia

According to a report by IANS, the last schedule started on Sunday. While the makers have not officially announced schedule details, the latest developments suggest the film is moving toward completion. This update comes as videos of Dhanush meeting fans and signing autographs in Malaysia started spreading on social media around the same time.Interestingly, On Saturday, Dhanush’s manager Sreyas shared a photo of the Malaysian Twin Towers on Instagram with the caption, “#Om final schedule.” He also used the film’s introductory song in the story.It is also reported that Mammootty will shoot for five days in Malaysia, while Dhanush and veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah are expected to be part of the entire schedule.

Naseeruddin Shah joins the big film

Speaking of Naseeruddin Shah, a few days ago, the makers officially announced that the veteran Bollywood actor had joined the cast of ‘Om’.The production house, Wunderbar Films, shared the news by writing, “A strong addition to the world of #OM. The veteran #NaseeruddinShah on board the mega biggie. Coming to cinemas worldwide on October 16th 2026.” The film’s title also carries the tagline Chapter 1, which suggests the makers may be planning a sequel.

About ‘Om’ and its cast

In the teaser shared by the makers Dhanush is seen playing a woodcutter who comes to the rescue of workers illegally cutting red sanders.The film also features Sai Pallavi and Sreeleela in important roles. The music is composed by Sai Abhyankkar, Ezhil Arasu handles the cinematography and Kalaivanan R is the editor.The makers had earlier announced that ‘Om’ would release in theatres on October 16, 2026. However, speculations suggest the release date could change, and a new date may be announced soon.
