Fresh off the success of ‘Drishyam: The Conclusion’, Ajay Devgn has moved on to his next project, ‘Chauhaan’. According to a report, the actor has begun filming the action drama in Kargil, Ladakh, with the makers targeting an October 2027 theatrical release. The shoot also marks Devgn’s return to the region after more than two decades.

According to Bollywood Hungama, Devgn arrived in Ladakh a few days ago and has already started shooting ‘Chauhaan’ in Kargil. The report states that several key scenes will be filmed in the town, with the production team having secured the necessary permissions and made arrangements for the shoot. Temperatures in Kargil are low, and the region’s weather and landscape are expected to lend an authentic atmosphere to the film’s scenes. The makers have not publicly disclosed further details about the sequence being filmed or the duration of the Ladakh schedule.

Ajay Devgn returns to Ladakh after 23 years

Devgn is returning to Ladakh for a film shoot after a gap of 23 years. His last reported shoot in the Union Territory was for J. P. Dutta’s 2003 war drama ‘LOC: Kargil’, which depicted events from the Kargil War. The return brings the actor back to a location associated with one of his earlier war films, this time for ‘Chauhaan’, an action drama directed by Neeraj Yadav.

‘Pathaanon se kehna, Chauhaan aa raha hai’: Teaser and release date

The teaser for ‘Chauhaan’, unveiled in June, features Devgn in an all-black look, accompanied by the iconic track ‘Jumma Chumma De De’. It ends with the dialogue, “Pathaanon se kehna, Chauhaan aa raha hai” (Tell the Pathaans, Chauhaan is coming), which has drawn attention online. Directed by Neeraj Yadav, the action drama is produced by Jyoti Deshpande, Aanand L. Rai and Himanshu Sharma under the banners of Jio Studios and Colour Yellow Productions.‘Chauhaan’ is scheduled to release in theatres on October 1, 2027. ‘Drishyam: The Conclusion’ gives Ajay Devgn his biggest career opening

Devgn’s new shoot comes after the strong box-office performance of ‘Drishyam: The Conclusion’. The film reportedly collected Rs 27 crore in advance bookings ahead of its release, with ticket sales opening on September 27. According to the figures provided, the film opened with Rs 66.75 crore net in India, marking the biggest opening of Devgn’s career and the third-best opening for a Hindi film. It went on to collect Rs 53.50 crore on Saturday and Rs 61 crore on Sunday.Sacnilk’s reported figures put the film’s India net collection at Rs 245.50 crore after it earned Rs 13 crore on Thursday. These figures are provisional trade estimates and may be revised as updated collections become available.
