India will also become a larger global manufacturing and export hub, with Stellantis planning to produce left-hand-drive vehicles locally for overseas markets, expanding its reach to more than 50 countries.

NEW DELHI: Automaker Stellantis plans to invest another Rs 4,000 crore in India over three years, starting 2027 as it looks to revive the fortunes of its Jeep and Citroën brands through new products, greater localisation and multiple powertrain options, including hybrids and electric vehicles.Under its FaSTLAne 2030 strategy, the company will introduce 12 products, comprising seven all-new models and five refreshed offerings. The first launch is scheduled for the second quarter of 2027.Stellantis India CEO and MD Shailesh Hazela told TOI that the company expects to triple its current market share, banking on a stronger product portfolio and improved affordability.Acknowledging that Jeep and Citroën have struggled to achieve significant volumes, Hazela said greater localisation would be central to improving competitiveness. The company also plans to leverage its existing partnership with Tata Motors and local supplier networks to reduce costs and strengthen manufacturing capabilities.“We will apply this learning to Jeep through greater localisation, so that the cost of ownership comes down and the product becomes more accessible to customers,” he said, adding that Citroën has achieved 90% localisation. On electrification, Hazela said Stellantis would offer conventional engines, hybrids and EVs across its portfolio. “We will give customers choices across segments and be ready to respond to demand based on their preferences,” he said.India will also become a larger global manufacturing and export hub, with Stellantis planning to produce left-hand-drive vehicles locally for overseas markets, expanding its reach to more than 50 countries.
