A fresh development has emerged in the firing incident involving actor Tiger Shroff, with the Mumbai Crime Branch claiming that the shooters had allegedly planned to target another prominent Bollywood celebrity before turning their attention to him. According to the police, the accused could not reach their original target because of the celebrity’s tight security arrangements.“Tiger Shroff was not the shooters’ original target. The three shooters were targeting a prominent Bollywood celebrity. However, the celebrity’s security was so tight that the shooters were unable to target them,” said the Mumbai Crime Branch, according to ANI.The shooters allegedly chose Tiger Shroff as an alternative target, believing it would be easier to reach him. “Later, the shooters decided to target Tiger Shroff, believing he would be an easier target, and opened fire at him instead,” the Mumbai Crime Branch added.Meanwhile, the Mumbai Police have taken custody of three suspects who were arrested in Rajasthan’s Kota in connection with the firing incident. A local court granted the Maharashtra Police a 48-hour transit remand, allowing the team to bring the accused to Mumbai for further investigation.Following the court’s order, the Mumbai Police reportedly changed their original plan for transporting the suspects and implemented an alternative strategy referred to as ‘Plan B’. The three accused were kept at the Railway Colony police station in Kota overnight.Visuals from the police station showed heightened security, with personnel from the Mumbai Police Crime Branch and Rajasthan Police deployed around the premises. According to reports, the police had initially planned to take the accused to Mumbai overnight but subsequently decided to keep them in Kota as part of the revised arrangements.Railway Colony Police Station SHO Ramswaroop Meena confirmed that the accused had been granted a 48-hour transit remand and were being taken to Mumbai by the Maharashtra Police.The incident took place around 7 pm on Sunday in Mumbai’s Juhu area, when Tiger Shroff was leaving a football club. The accused allegedly opened fire at the actor’s car. While Tiger escaped without sustaining any direct gunshot injuries, his driver was injured in the incident.According to the police, the suspects were apprehended while travelling on a train. A case has been registered under Sections 109(1) and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), along with Sections 3 and 25 of the Arms Act.The investigation is ongoing, with the police probing the circumstances surrounding the shooting, the alleged motive behind it and the identities of the intended targets.
