Tiger Shroff firing incident raises safety concerns

Tiger Shroff was reportedly at a football ground in Mumbai’s Juhu area on October 18 when gunshots were fired outside the venue. The incident prompted a police investigation, with authorities examining suspected links to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. The episode has added to concerns about threats directed at members of the Hindi film industry. In February, gunshots were reported outside filmmaker Rohit Shetty’s residence in Juhu. Salman Khan has also faced repeated threats, including a firing incident outside his Bandra residence in April 2024.

Producers asked to verify workers’ credentials

FWICE has encouraged production companies to hire experienced professionals whose details can be checked through its affiliated associations. According to the federation, these organisations maintain membership records and review applicants’ documents and professional credentials. However, FWICE has clarified that association membership alone cannot replace independent background checks. Production houses must carry out additional verification when necessary and report suspicious activity or possible threats promptly to law enforcement and security agencies. The federation has also called for cooperation between producers, filmmakers and industry associations to ensure that recommended precautions are implemented consistently.

Safety measures must protect entire film crews

FWICE has reportedly emphasised that security planning should extend to every person present at a production location. Actors and other high-profile personalities require protection, but technicians, artists, directors, producers and workers also face potential risks. The federation has urged industry stakeholders to make human safety a priority when organising shoots, managing access and recruiting personnel. It has maintained that vigilance and responsible hiring practices are necessary to create safer working conditions across film and television productions.
