Govinda breaks silence on wife Sunita Ahuja's cheating allegations, talks about her contribution to his life: 'She’s been lucky for me, I’ll keep dodging her claims'

Govinda has addressed his wife Sunita Ahuja’s allegations of infidelity, claiming that someone is manipulating her and influencing her statements about their relationship. The actor also revealed that he had anticipated facing such a situation seven to eight years ago, adding that he would rather remain silent than say anything that could damage his wife’s reputation.Govinda said he was choosing not to react to the comments being made about him, describing the situation as a passing phase. “I’m not focusing on what people are saying because that’s just a phase they’re going through. Everybody’s reacting this way across the country, especially ladies. I never object to ladies’ reactions. I keep quiet and respectful because I know that if I do, once this phase is over, the wounds will remain. I don’t want to cast any doubt on my behaviour, unless someone forces me to,” he said in an interview with ABP Live. The actor went on to explain why he did not want to publicly embarrass anyone, adding that he had anticipated this turn of events years ago. “It’s in my nature not to expose someone so that they start feeling embarrassed. I said seven to eight years ago that I’d go through something like this. Now, we’re all caught in that same loop. Bad reputation has always been synonymous with my name. People have told me for years that I’d betray them one day,” he added.Suggesting that an attempt was being made to create a rift between him and Sunita, Govinda claimed that people close to a person could sometimes be influenced by others. “There comes a time in every household that your close ones can’t see beyond you. They get manipulated and influenced,” he said.Despite the allegations, Govinda acknowledged Sunita’s contribution to his life and career, crediting her for bringing him good fortune. He said he would give her the space to express herself rather than challenge her publicly.“I have eaten so much into her luck that whatever name and respect I’ve earned is because of my mother’s blessings, and my wife, because of whom I’ve never looked back. So, she’s been lucky for me,” said Govinda. He added that explaining his concerns about possible outside influence to Sunita would not necessarily help her understand the situation at present.Maintaining that he would not speak negatively about his wife, the actor said he intended to continue handling the allegations with restraint until those allegedly influencing her stopped. “I’ll keep dodging her claims till those who are influencing her get dizzy. That’s when they’ll realize they’ve messed with Govinda. Bitterness will never lead to sweetness. Once this phase passes, people will say I behaved respectfully. I’m not falling into their trap,” he added.During the interview, Govinda also expressed gratitude for having overcome several difficult situations in his life. Recalling a recent incident in which he allegedly shot himself in the foot, he spoke about turning down film offers that required him to portray a one-legged character. “I’m very grateful that even when I got shot, I could refuse many roles of playing a one-legged guy, even for Rs 20-22 crore,” he said. The latest exchange comes after Sunita shared pictures from a temple visit in Kolkata last month. In her caption, she expressed a desire to see the demons in her life eliminated and appealed to women and Gen-Z for support, suggesting that her “home is falling apart”. She has also insinuated that Govinda is involved in an alleged affair with Komal Rani, his younger co-star in his upcoming home production, ‘Roopa’.
