The ‘OM’ sets witnessed a heartwarming celebration as four National Award winners – Mammootty, Dhanush, director Rajkumar Periyasamy and editor R. Kalaivanan – came together to celebrate their recent achievements. The team cut a big cake on the ongoing film shoot and shared the joyous occasion with the crew. Mammootty later posted pictures from the celebration on social media, giving fans a glimpse of the memorable gathering. The photos quickly went viral, with cinema lovers praising the coming together of some of Indian cinema’s biggest talents.

Mammootty shares celebration photos after National Film Awards triumph

Sharing the pictures on X, Mammootty wrote, “A small celebration of our National Award wins with @dhanushkraja, @Rajkumar_KP and R. Kalaivanan on the sets of #OM. Grateful for all the love and wishes.” One photograph features the four award winners posing in front of a large cake, while another captures them cutting it together as members of the film unit applaud the special moment. At the 72nd National Film Awards, Mammootty won the Best Actor award for Bramayugam. Dhanush’s Raayan was named Best Tamil Film, while his performance in Captain Miller earned him a Special Mention. Rajkumar Periyasamy received the Best Director award for Amaran, and editor R. Kalaivanan won Best Editing for the same film.

Celebration raises excitement around Mammootty and Dhanush’s big collaboration

The celebration has further increased anticipation for ‘OM’, which brings Mammootty and Dhanush together in lead roles for the first time in a full-length film. Directed by Rajkumar Periyasamy, the film has generated significant buzz since its announcement. The technical team comprises cinematographer Ezhil Arasu, editor R Kalaivanan, and costume designer Kavya Sriram. The film is currently being shot and is set for a worldwide theatrical release on October 16, 2026, making it one of the most anticipated Tamil films of the year.
