JPSC postpones 9 recruitment exams until further notice; Civil Services Main among key tests deferred
The Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) has deferred nine recruitment examinations, including the Combined Civil Services Main Exam, citing unavoidable reasons. The postponement comes amid an ongoing CID investigation into alleged examination irregularities that has led to multiple arrests. Candidates must await fresh schedules, as revised examination dates have not yet been announced.

The Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) has postponed nine major recruitment examinations scheduled between July and September 2026, including the highly anticipated Jharkhand Combined Civil Services Main Examination. In an official notification, the commission said the examinations have been deferred due to “unavoidable reasons.”The notice stated that the Jharkhand Combined Civil Services Main (Written) Competitive Examination-2025 (Advertisement No. 01/2026), which was scheduled to be conducted from July 25 to July 27, 2026, has been postponed until further orders.The commission further clarified that all remaining examinations listed in the Examination Calendar-2026, issued on July 9, 2026, have also been postponed indefinitely. No revised examination dates have been announced so far.

Complete list of JPSC exams postponed

The following examinations have been deferred:

  • Jharkhand Combined Civil Services Main Examination 2025 – July 25 to July 27, 2026
  • Jharkhand Combined Civil Service Main (Written) Backlog Examination 2025 – August 8 to August 10, 2026
  • Jharkhand Combined Civil Service Main (Written) Backlog Examination 2023 – August 1 to August 3, 2026
  • Civil Judge (Junior Division) Written Examination – September 6 and 7, 2026
  • Assistant Public Prosecutor (Backlog) Written Examination – September 8 to September 12, 2026
  • Inspector of Factories (Advertisement No. 01/2025) Written Examination – September 11 and 12, 2026
  • Project Manager Written Examination – September 19 and 20, 2026
  • Assistant Public Prosecutor (Regular) Written Examination – September 25 to September 29, 2026
  • Boiler Inspector (Advertisement No. 02/2025) Written Examination – September 26 and 27, 2026

Exam postponement comes amid probe into alleged irregularities

The large-scale postponement comes against the backdrop of an ongoing investigation into alleged malpractice linked to competitive examinations conducted by the commission.According to reports, the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) recently arrested five individuals, including Deputy Examination Controller Shweta Gupta, following raids connected to the alleged examination irregularities.The other arrested persons include Ramvir Singh, Director of TSR Data Processing Private Limited, along with Md Usman, Md Ebad, and Abhay Kumar Tiwari.The CID said a case has been registered under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Jharkhand Competitive Examination (Measures for Control and Prevention of Unfair Means in Recruitment) Act, 2023.Here is the link to the official notice for the same.Candidates are advised to stay tuned to the official website to get the complete details of the JPSC exam postponement.
