Honda's new QC3 electric scooter: 145 km range, key features & more

Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India has expanded its electric two-wheeler portfolio with the unveiling of the new QC3 electric scooter. The new model becomes the company’s third electric scooter for the Indian market after the Activa e: and QC1. The Honda QC3 is powered by a 3 kWh battery pack paired with a hub-mounted electric motor. The company claims a maximum riding range of 145 km on a full charge. The battery can be charged from 0 to 80 percent in 2 hours and 40 minutes, while a full charge takes around four hours. In Honda’s EV lineup, the QC3 sits above the QC1 in terms of both range and equipment.The company is expected to announce its launch timeline and pricing closer to its market introduction.Design-wise, the QC3 gets a simple and contemporary look aimed at everyday use. The front apron houses the headlamp and turn indicators, while it also features LED DRLs. It also gets a flat floorboard and a long single-piece seat.The scooter comes equipped with a TFT instrument display that supports Honda RoadSync connectivity and turn-by-turn navigation. On the hardware front, the QC3 rides on alloy wheels and features telescopic front forks, dual rear shock absorbers and a front disc brake.Honda currently retails the QC1 and Activa e: in India, although both models are available only in select cities as the company gradually expands its EV network. The QC1 uses a fixed 1.5 kWh battery pack, offers a claimed IDC-certified range of 80 km and has a top speed of 50 kmph.The Activa e:, on the other hand, is priced from Rs 1.20 lakh and uses two swappable 1.5 kWh battery packs, giving it a combined capacity of 3 kWh. It delivers a claimed IDC-certified range of 102 km.
