The Rajasthan government’s Department of Local Self Government has released the official notification for the Rajasthan Safai Karamchari Recruitment 2026. The recruitment drive will fill more than 24,000 contractual Safai Karamchari (sanitation worker) posts across 183 Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) in the state.One of the major highlights of this recruitment is that no educational qualification has been prescribed. Candidates who have never attended school can also apply if they meet the required work experience criteria. Since there is no educational qualification requirement, there will also be no written examination or interview for selection.The online application process will begin on August 15, 2026.
Eligibility criteria
Candidates applying for the Rajasthan Safai Karamchari Recruitment 2026 must meet the following conditions:
- The applicant must be a permanent resident of Rajasthan.
- No educational qualification is required.
- The candidate should be physically and mentally fit.
- Applicants must have at least one year of sanitation work experience.
- The one-year experience can be continuous or combined from different periods.
- Candidates with sanitation work experience in any Urban Local Body of Rajasthan are eligible to apply.
- The experience certificate must be issued by the competent authority as specified in the notification.
- Each candidate can apply for only one Urban Local Body out of the 183 participating bodies.
Age limitCandidates must be at least 21 years old and should not be more than 40 years old as on January 1, 2027.Age relaxation will be available as per government rules:
- Male candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Other Backward Class (OBC), and Economically Weaker Section (EWS) categories who are permanent residents of Rajasthan will get 5 years of relaxation.
- Women who are permanent residents of Rajasthan will get 5 years of relaxation.
- Women belonging to SC, ST, OBC, Most Backward Class (MBC), and EWS categories who are permanent residents of Rajasthan will get 10 years of relaxation.
Selection process
There will be no written examination or interview.Selection will be done through a lottery system conducted separately for each Urban Local Body. Preference will be given to candidates who have one year of sanitation work experience in the concerned Urban Local Body. If enough eligible candidates are not available, applicants with experience from other Urban Local Bodies will be considered for the lottery process.
Application fee
Candidates will have to pay the application fee according to their category:
- General (Unreserved): ₹600
- Reserved category candidates: ₹400
- Persons with Disabilities (PwD): ₹400
The application link will become active on the official recruitment portal from August 15, 2026, after which eligible candidates can complete the online application process and pay the required fee.
