2026 Toyota Hilux launched at Rs 31.99 lakh: New features, 4x2 trim & more

Toyota Kirloskar Motor today finally launched the next-generation Toyota Hilux pick-up truck in the Indian market. The pickup continues to use the IMV ladder-frame platform and is offered only in the Double Cab body style. The 2026 Toyota Hilux is offered in three variants – the entry-level GX 4×2 AT is priced at Rs 31.99 lakh, followed by the GX 4×4 AT at Rs 33.69 lakh. The top-spec VX 4×4 AT is priced at Rs 36.69 lakh (all prices ex-showroom). Interested customers can book the pick-up online or by visiting their nearest dealership, deliveries will begin in the second week of August.In terms of design, the updated Hilux gets a revised front end featuring slim LED headlamps, a honeycomb-pattern grille with prominent ‘TOYOTA’ lettering, and a redesigned bumper with black inserts, LED fog lamps and a silver skid plate. Along the sides are black wheel arch cladding, roll bars, side steps, electrically adjustable and retractable ORVMs, a shark-fin antenna and new 17-inch alloy wheels.

At the rear, the pickup receives vertically stacked LED tail-lamps with C-shaped lighting elements, ‘TOYOTA’ lettering across the tailgate and a bumper with an integrated step for easier access to the cargo bed. It is available in six colours: Sulphur Metallic, Platinum Pearl White Metallic, Attitude Black, Ash, Emotional Red and Super White.Moving inside, the Hilux features a new dashboard housing a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 7-inch instrument cluster, along with a new three-spoke steering wheel carrying Toyota’s lettermark. The feature list includes wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless phone charging, connected car technology, cruise control, powered and ventilated front seats, an 8-speaker audio system, a rear armrest with cupholders, a PM 2.5 air filter, a 360-degree camera and Eco, Normal and Sport drive modes.The cabin uses a mix of leatherette surfaces and hard plastics, while physical controls have been retained for key functions. Compared with the global-spec model, the India-spec Hilux does not get ADAS, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster or dual-zone automatic climate control. Instead, it comes with a 7-inch instrument display and manual air conditioning. Safety equipment includes seven airbags, Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), ABS with Brake Assist, front and rear parking sensors, a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) and ISOFIX child-seat mounts.Talking about the powertrain, the Hilux is powered by the same 2.8-litre four-cylinder diesel engine producing 204hp and 500Nm. It comes paired only with a six-speed torque-converter automatic gearbox. Toyota has also introduced a rear-wheel-drive (4×2) variant alongside the four-wheel-drive (4×4) versions. The 4×4 variants continue with a low-range transfer case, an electronic differential lock, multiple terrain modes, downhill assist control, traction control and an auto limited-slip differential.
