However, beyond the impressive VFX and action sequences, a brief moment involving Ranbir Kapoor has become the biggest talking point online. Fans were quick to notice what appeared to be the actor in two different avatars, leading to widespread speculation about a possible double role. The surprising detail has now been confirmed.

Ranbir Kapoor to portray two avatars?

Soon after the trailer dropped on July 30, fans began discussing a key sequence in which Lord Parshuram presents the divine bow Sharanga to Lord Rama. Many noticed striking similarities between the two characters, leading to theories that Ranbir was portraying both roles.The speculation has now been confirmed, with Ranbir set to essay both Lord Rama and Lord Parshuram in the mythological epic.In the trailer, Lord Parshuram is seen kneeling before Lord Rama while offering him Sharanga, the celestial bow associated with Lord Vishnu. The brief sequence quickly became one of the most discussed moments from the trailer.

Fans celebrate the surprise reveal

The revelation sparked excitement across social media, with fans praising the decision to cast Ranbir Kapoor in a double role.One user wrote, “#RanbirKapoor will play Parshu Ram and Shri Ram avatar simultaneously! Why Lord Parshuram is significant?

According to Hindu mythology, Lord Parshuram is regarded as the sixth avatar of Lord Vishnu. Known as an immortal warrior sage with extraordinary mastery over weapons, he famously encounters Lord Rama after Sita’s swayamvara. Following their meeting, Lord Parshuram gifts Sharanga, the celestial bow of Lord Vishnu, to Lord Rama, marking an important moment in the epic narrative.

‘Ramayana Part 1’ creates massive buzz

Released during Brahma Muhurat on July 30, the four-minute-and-nine-second trailer has received an overwhelming response online. Within just six hours of its launch, the video crossed five million views, reflecting the enormous anticipation surrounding the film.Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, ‘Ramayana Part 1’ stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Yash as Ravana, and Sunny Deol as Lord Hanuman. The screenplay has been penned by Shridhar Raghavan and Nitesh Tiwari.Adding to the scale of the project is its music, composed through a rare collaboration between Hans Zimmer and AR Rahman.The first installment of the two-part saga is scheduled to arrive in theatres during Diwali 2026, while ‘Ramayana Part 2’ is slated for a Diwali 2027 release.
