CWG 2026: Glasgow restaurant deletes Instagram account after Lovlina Borgohain flags 'incorrect map' of India

NEW DELHI: A Glasgow-based Indian restaurant deleted its Instagram account after Olympic medallist Lovlina Borgohain pointed out that its logo and napkins showed an incorrect map of India. The incident happened after the Indian boxing team visited Mister Singh’s India – The Home of Curry to celebrate its historic Commonwealth Games 2026 campaign. India finished with a record 10 boxing medals – seven gold and three silver. During the dinner, Lovlina noticed that the map printed on the restaurant’s napkins and displayed outside the restaurant did not include India’s Northeast. Lovlina, who is from Assam and won a silver medal in Glasgow, politely raised the issue with the restaurant management.“Please don’t take this the wrong way. I felt a little hurt by this. That’s all I wanted to say. Please keep this in mind next time. Thank you so much.”
