Ekadashi in August 2026: Significance
Ekadashi is the most prominent days in Hindu religion. The day is purely dedicated to worship Lord Vishnu. Devotees offer their sincere prayers to Lord Vishnu on this specific day and seek blessings of Lord Vishnu. According to Hindu scriptures, Ekadashi is one of the most auspicious days. For Hindus, this day has great religious and spiritual importance. Devotees of Lord Vishnu observe fast on this sacred day and worship him with sincere intentions. It is believed that Lord Vishnu removes all the past committed sins. Devotees who observe this fast with a strong sense of faith and good intentions are freed from all sufferings bad karmic acts they may have committed knowingly or unknowingly. It is also believed that devotees get a place in the abode of Lord Vishnu after their death.
Ekadashi in August 2026: Puja Rituals
Before beginning the puja rituals, devotees get up early and take a sacred bath. Clean the house and puja room and then offer Arghya to Lord Surya before starting puja rituals. Place an idol of Lord Vishnu and Goddess Laxmi, also known as Shree Yantra, a representation of Maa Lakshmi, on a wooden plank. Chant Lord Vishnu’s mantras to invoke the idol, recite the specific Ekadashi Vrat katha, offer bhog prasad, fruits, sweets, panchamrit, and tulsi dal to Lord Vishnu and spend the day reciting the Shri Krishna Maha Mantra. In the evening, devotees can eat fruits and other vrat meals recommended for fast. Visit the Vishnu temple and seek blessings. Those who observe strict fasts, they break on dwadashi Tithi during parana time.
