Speaking to Variety, Particle 6 CEO Eline van der Velden said the film will combine traditional filmmakers with AI specialists rather than relying entirely on artificial intelligence.“Our work this year has proven something we suspected all along. AI can support premium narrative filmmaking, but only with substantial amounts of human craft, skill, judgement and time. That’s not a limitation of the technology. That’s the point.”She added that the story reflects the real-world conversation around AI.“The film will absolutely be funny, chaotic and self-aware, very Tilly. But underneath it, there’s something deeper about identity, performance and our very human fears around AI. And yes, art will most definitely be imitating life.”
AI’s growing role in Hollywood
Tilly Norwood is part of a growing wave of AI-generated digital personalities entering the entertainment industry. Xicoia has previously said it is working with several Hollywood actors interested in using AI versions of themselves on screen, while also collaborating with estates to recreate legendary performers for future projects.The announcement also comes as music producer Timbaland launched an AI-focused entertainment company featuring its first AI-generated music artist.
