NSE IPO Opens For Subscription

The Rs 22,569-crore NSE IPO opened for subscription on Thursday. The three-day issue will remain open until September 21 and consists entirely of an offer-for-sale of 12.64 crore equity shares held by existing shareholders. The price band has been set at Rs 1,700-1,785 per share.Since the issue is an OFS, NSE itself will not get any of the funds raised. After deducting issue expenses, the proceeds will go to the shareholders selling their shares. The grey market premium (GMP) for the NSE IPO was around 9%, pointing to expectations of a moderate listing gain, according to an ET report. At the upper end, the minimum retail application is Rs 14,280 and the post-issue market capitalisation is estimated at about Rs 4,41,788 crore. The shares are expected to list on the BSE on September 24.Brokerages have largely been positive on the issue. Analysts have highlighted NSE’s strong margins, debt-free balance sheet, market leadership and expanding investor base as factors supporting its long-term prospects. However, valuation and regulatory risks remain. The exchange is also heavily dependent on trading volumes, particularly options.NSE operates an integrated platform covering trading, clearing, listing, data services and index licensing. Its offerings include cash equities, futures and options, mutual funds, commodity and currency derivatives, wholesale debt and interest rate futures. It has remained India’s leading exchange by cash-market and equity-derivatives turnover from FY01 to FY26. As of June 2026, NSE had 132.4 million unique registered investors, 1,328 trading members and 3,005 listed entities, with market capitalisation of about Rs 474.1 trillion.(Disclaimer: Recommendations and views on the stock market, or any other asset classes or personal finance management tips given by experts and analysts are their own.
