Athletics will be one of the main attractions, with Avinash Sable, Murali Sreeshankar, Parul Chaudhary, Gulveer Singh and Rohit Yadav among those competing in medal events. India’s women’s 25m pistol team, led by Manu Bhaker, Esha Singh and Rahi Sarnobat, will also be in contention in shooting, while Pincky Balhara could compete for a medal in the women’s -78kg kurash event if she progresses through the earlier rounds.

There is also plenty of action outside the medal events. India’s men’s cricket team will take on Afghanistan in the quarterfinal, while the men’s hockey team will face Bangladesh in their Pool A match. The squash teams will play multiple matches, and Indian athletes will also be in action in archery, boxing, sailing, surfing, sepak takraw, volleyball and tennis.

With several events beginning in the early hours and action continuing into the evening, Monday promises a packed schedule for Indian fans.
