Honda ZR-V launched in India at Rs 48 lakh: Efficiency, features & more

Honda Cars India today finally launched the much-anticipated Honda ZR-V in the Indian market, priced at Rs 48 lakh (ex-showroom). The ZR-V is offered in a single fully loaded variant and is brought to India as a completely built unit (CBU) from Japan. The hybrid SUV competes with the Volkswagen Tiguan, Skoda Kodiaq, Nissan X-Trail and more.Talking about the powertrain, the Honda ZR-V is powered by a 2.0-litre strong-hybrid petrol engine with a four-cylinder, direct-injection setup operating on the Atkinson cycle and two permanent-magnet synchronous electric motors. The combined output stands at 184hp and 315 Nm, with power delivered to the front wheels via an e-CVT gearbox. Honda claims a 0-100kph sprint in 7.9 seconds, an electronically limited top speed of 171kph, and a fuel efficiency of 22.8kpl. In terms of design, the Honda ZR-V adopts a crossover-like design instead of a traditional upright SUV form, with clean surfaces. At the front, it features a large grille and wide LED headlamps, integrated neatly into the fascia to deliver a restrained yet noticeable presence. In profile, the SUV appears lower than typical models, with a sloping roofline and a long wheelbase, giving it proportions closer to a raised hatchback than a conventional tall SUV. Subtle character lines add definition without making the design complex. The rear continues the same approach, with wraparound LED tail lamps, a slightly raked rear glass and a simple tailgate layout. A roof-mounted spoiler adds a mild sporty element while maintaining the overall clean design. The exterior is positioned as more urban-focused than rugged. Moving inside, the Honda ZR-V adopts a straightforward cabin design. Controls are arranged logically, with an emphasis on accessibility from the driver’s seat. The infotainment screen is positioned as a standalone unit at the top of the dashboard, clearly separated from the physical switchgear below. Honda has continued to use conventional buttons and rotary controls for functions such as climate controls.Features-wise, it gets a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 10-inch digital instrument cluster, dual-zone climate control, a 12-speaker Bose sound system, wireless phone charging, electric tailgate, acoustic front and rear windshields, front & rear ambient lighting, wipers with integrated washers, 8 airbags, ADAS and more.
