PUNE: The Care For You Foundation organised an educational visit to the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) centre at Sriharikota for 43 students from various childcare institutions across Maharashtra, along with 30 volunteers. The students got an opportunity to learn about India’s space missions, advanced technology and research activities.The team was accompanied by the foundation’s chief adviser and Additional Director General of Police (Training and Special Units), Maharashtra, Krishna Prakash, along with founder CA Payal Rathi among others. During the visit, the students interacted with senior ISRO officials and scientists and learned about the discipline, precision, technical skills and dedication required behind space missions.The students visited the first and second launch pads at Sriharikota as well as the control room. They got first hand information about the advanced facilities from where India’s important space missions are carried out.Online interaction with ISRO chairmanISRO chairman V Narayanan interacted with the students online from Bengaluru. Despite his busy schedule, he took time to answer the students’ questions and guide them.ISRO director Mr Shukla and official N Kumar also interacted with the students and explained space science to them in simple terms.
