Dolly Parton secretly travelled to Germany for experimental cancer treatment before her death at 80, flew to Frankfurt on private jet and stayed for a week: Report
Dolly Parton’s illness was largely kept out of the public eye.

Country music legend Dolly Parton reportedly travelled secretly to Germany for an experimental cancer treatment around a year before her death, according to a report by TMZ. The singer, who died on August 25, 2026, at the age of 80, had privately battled cancer during the final year of her life.According to sources cited by TMZ, Parton flew to Frankfurt on a private jet to undergo an experimental procedure. She is said to have remained in Germany for approximately a week before returning to the United States. The precise nature of the treatment, the medical facility involved and the type of cancer Parton was battling have not been publicly disclosed. German outlet t-online also noted that the claims about the Frankfurt treatment have not been independently confirmed.Sources cited by the report said Parton believed the treatment had helped restore her strength and felt that it had been effective. However, it remains unclear whether the reported treatment was connected to the experimental drugs Parton had discussed with family members.

Dolly reportedly kept her cancer battle private

Parton’s illness was largely kept out of the public eye. Even some people close to her were unaware of the severity of her condition until she was hospitalized and her health deteriorated. Her death on August 25 came as a shock to many outside her inner circle. She was later laid to rest in a private ceremony at Woodlawn Memorial Park and Mausoleum in Nashville. She was placed next to her late husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, who passed away in March 2025.Reports have also indicated that Parton’s sister, Stella Parton, said Dolly had been willing to try experimental drugs during her cancer battle, partly with the hope that her experience could potentially help other patients. However, there is no public confirmation that those drugs were the same treatment she reportedly received in Germany.

Estate dispute emerges after her death

The latest revelations about Parton’s private health battle come amid a separate dispute involving her estate and nephew Bryan Seaver, who had served as her longtime head of security.Parton’s estate management company, She’s Alive, has accused Seaver of sending threatening messages and attempting to interfere with the late singer’s business affairs. The company has sought a restraining order restricting Seaver’s contact with its employees, attorneys and business partners. These are allegations contained in court filings, not established findings against Seaver.Seaver has disputed the allegations. In a statement to ABC News, he described the restraining order as a “publicity stunt.”
