The makers of ‘I’m Game’ have announced a change to the movie’s theatrical schedule. The Dulquer Salmaan starrer was earlier planned as an August 20 release. It will now reach cinemas worldwide on September 3, 2026.Nahas Hidhayath has directed the Malayalam action thriller. The movie features Dulquer Salmaan in the lead role. Kayadu Lohar, Antony Varghese and Mysskin are also part of the cast.The release shift was confirmed through an announcement from the team. The makers said the additional time would help them prepare the movie for a wider theatrical rollout.The official note read, “The game gets bigger. The release gets wider. We understand the anticipation and we apologize for the delay, but #IMGAME will now release worldwide on 3rd September, moving from its earlier release date of 20th August.”
Movie to release in five languages
The new date comes with plans for a larger release across India. ‘I’m Game’ will be released simultaneously in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and Kannada.The makers said the decision was taken to expand the movie’s reach. They also want audiences in different markets to experience the film on the big screen.The note further read, “The new release date comes with a larger vision for the film as #IMGAME gears up for a wider theatrical release across markets. The film will now simultaneously release in multiple languages—Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, and Kannada—taking the experience to audiences across the country and beyond.”The September release means ‘I’m Game’ will no longer arrive during the August 20 Onam window.

The production team described the postponement as a move aimed at giving ‘I’m Game’ a larger platform. The makers believe the movie deserves a release that can maximise its theatrical reach.“This decision has been made to give #IMGAME the scale, reach, and theatre platform it truly deserves, allowing audiences across different markets to experience it on the big screen. The wait gets a little longer, but the game gets bigger!”‘Mazhavillaye’ creates buzzThe release update comes after the launch of ‘Mazhavillaye’, the first single from ‘I’m Game’. Jakes Bejoy composed the track, while Armaan Malik lent his vocals to the song.Dulquer Salmaan recently expressed his appreciation for Armaan Malik’s work on the song. The actor shared a message for the singer on X after listening to the track.“It’s such a privilege to have you bring so much soul and your own spirit to this track brother. Been your fan forever so this is truly special!” Dulquer Salmaan wrote.The actor signed off his message with “Lots of love always” along with heart emojis.
