The Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education (HPBOSE) has announced the result of the Matric second examination held in July 2026. The examination was conducted for students appearing for essential improvement, compartment, optional improvement and additional subjects. A total of 8,181 students appeared, of whom 4,930 passed, resulting in a pass percentage of 60.27%.The July examination was held under the Dual board examination system introduced for Class 10 students from March 2026. With the main and second examinations combined, 91,060 students appeared and 81,110 passed, taking the overall pass percentage to 89.54%.Dual examination system provides another opportunityThe HPBOSE introduced the second examination to allow eligible Class 10 students to improve their results or clear academic requirements without waiting for another annual examination cycle.The combined figures include students who appeared in the main examination as well as those who took the second examination. The system is intended to provide students with an additional opportunity within the same academic year.Among the 8,181 students who appeared for the July examination, 4,930 passed. Another 1,774 students were placed in the compartment category, while 1,316 were classified as Essential Repeat.July examination result detailsThe second examination covered students seeking essential improvement, compartment, optional improvement and admission-related additional subject opportunities.

The board has also made copies of certificates available through DigiLocker.The digital availability of certificates is intended to allow students to use their academic documents for further admissions and other educational requirements without waiting for physical copies.Revaluation and rechecking applications openStudents who are not satisfied with the evaluation of their answer scripts can apply for revaluation or rechecking until September 9, 2026.The revaluation fee is Rs 1,000 per subject, while the rechecking fee is Rs 800 per subject. Applications must be submitted online through the concerned school.The board has stated that applications submitted without the prescribed fee or sent directly through offline mode will not be accepted.
