The romantic coming-of-age drama, released on July 10, had a decent second weekend and is still adding to its overall total, even though collections slowed on Monday. The film has been running steadily at the box office due to positive word of mouth and its emotional storyline. Even today, Idhayam Murali remains a big Tamil hit in the theatres, thanks to the patronage of the family crowds and the young audience.

Second-week trend reflects steady hold at the box office

The film completed its first week at a net of Rs 14.18 crore, giving it a solid platform before it entered the second weekend. Collections improved over the weekend with Rs 1.46 crore each on day 9 and day 10, before settling at Rs 0.55 crore on day 11. The gradual drop is in line with the usual weekday trend seen by many theatrical releases. However, ‘Idhayam Murali’ has comfortably crossed the Rs 18 crore India net mark and is still adding to its overall collections.
