Atharvaa’s latest release ‘Idhayam Murali’ has made its theatrical debut with a modest opening at the box office. The coming-of-age romantic drama arrived in cinemas on Friday and recorded a steady start in Tamil Nadu.
Day 1 collections reach Rs 1.90 crore
According to Sacnilk, ‘Idhayam Murali’ collected an estimated Rs 1.90 crore net in India on its opening day. The film earned the figure from 1,283 shows across the country.The India gross collection has reached Rs 2.19 crore. The cumulative India net collection currently stands at Rs 1.90 crore.Tamil Nadu generated a gross collection of Rs 1.95 crore. Karnataka followed with Rs 15 lakhs in gross collections, while Kerala contributed Rs 7 lakhs. Andhra Pradesh and Telangana added Rs 1 lakhs and the remaining regions across India also contributed Rs 1 lakhs.
Romantic drama backed by youthful cast
‘Idhayam Murali’ belongs to the coming-of-age romance genre and focuses on youthful relationships and emotions. Along with Atharvaa’s lead performance, the film features Kayadu Lohar and Preity Mukhundhan in important roles.The ensemble cast also includes Natty Subramaniam, Ramki, Thaman S, Niharika NM, Rakshan, Dravid Selvam, Sudhakar and Pragya Nagra. Fahadh Faasil’s cameo appearance has received good responses online.
