Jeep India has launched the Meridian 85th Anniversary Edition to celebrate 85 years of the SUV brand. Based on the premium Overland variant, the special edition will be produced in a limited run of just 85 units for the Indian market. Prices start at Rs 36.05 lakh, ex-showroom, while the updated Jeep Meridian range with the newly introduced CARA AI voice assistant now starts at Rs 30.45 lakh, ex-showroom. The anniversary edition gets a number of cosmetic upgrades to set it apart from the standard SUV. On the outside, it features exclusive 85th Anniversary styling elements along with gloss black 18-inch alloy wheels. Inside, the cabin adopts an all-black theme complemented by bespoke Mayan Gold accents and contrast detailing. Buyers can further personalise the SUV through optional 85th Anniversary AXS packages, which include accessories such as carpet floor mats, anniversary decals, ambient lighting and Sky Lounge sunroof illumination. A major highlight of the special edition is the introduction of CARA AI, Stellantis’ intelligent voice assistant, on the Meridian. The system supports natural voice conversations and can handle functions such as navigation, weather updates, reminders, phone calls, music playback, general knowledge queries and selected vehicle controls. Jeep says the assistant supports 52 languages, including several Indian languages, to make the in-car experience more intuitive. Mechanically, the Meridian 85th Anniversary Edition remains unchanged. It continues to be powered by a 2.0-litre diesel engine that develops 168 bhp and 350 Nm of peak torque. The engine is paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission, with customers able to choose between two-wheel-drive and four-wheel-drive configurations.
