New KVS app to help parents monitor children’s attendance and academic performance; verification deadline announced

PRAYAGRAJ: Parents of students enrolled in more than 1,200 Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVs) across the country will soon be able to keep a closer watch on their children’s school life without waiting for parent-teacher meetings (PTMs) or depending on messages from schools. The initiative is expected to make routine monitoring simpler and more transparent. The Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) is preparing to launch the KVS Samvaad-Parent Connect App, which will provide parents with access to attendance records, academic performance, school announcements and official communications through their mobile devices and the web.Through the app, parents will be able to check how many days their child attended school in a month and how many days they remained absent. They will also be able to track academic performance and identify whether their child’s performance is improving or declining. School announcements, results, latest updates and other official communications will also be available through the platform, creating a direct communication channel between schools and parents. However, access to the app will be restricted to verified parents. KVS has directed all Kendriya Vidyalayas to complete the mandatory verification of parents’ mobile numbers and email addresses on the SAMAGAM Portal before the app is launched. Parents whose contact details remain unverified will not be able to access the application.Under the verification protocol, class teachers must log in to SIS > Students > Verify Mobile and Email Address. Separate one-time passwords (OTPs) will be sent to the parents’ registered mobile numbers and email addresses. Parents will have to provide both OTPs to the class teacher for authentication. The student’s profile status must be marked as ‘Completed’ before verification is initiated.KVS has fixed November 6, 2026, as the deadline for completing the verification process. Schools have been advised to organise phased parent-teacher meetings, wherever required, to sensitise parents and facilitate the process. Regional offices and Vidyalaya principals have also been asked to monitor verification progress daily.KVS has stressed that OTPs are strictly confidential and must not be shared over the telephone, WhatsApp groups or any other public messaging platform. The directions, along with a step-by-step user guide, are to be circulated among all Kendriya Vidyalayas to ensure 100% compliance within the stipulated deadline. The app is expected to be launched in the coming months. Once operational, it will provide parents with a single digital platform to stay informed about their children’s attendance, academic progress and school-related updates.
