Maruti Brezza's Bharat NCAP score revealed! How it performed

Maruti Suzuki‘s upcoming Brezza facelift has secured a full five-star safety rating in the latest Bharat NCAP crash tests. The model scored highly in both adult and child occupant protection, reinforcing its safety credentials ahead of its market launch. The results apply across all variants, although the ZXI+ 1.5-litre 6AT version was used for the assessment. In the Adult Occupant Protection (AOP) tests, the Brezza scored 30.41 out of a possible 32 points. It secured 14.41 out of 16 in the frontal offset deformable barrier test and a full 16 out of 16 in the side movable deformable barrier test. During the frontal crash test, the driver’s head, neck, pelvis, thighs and feet were rated as receiving good protection, while the chest and tibiae were marked as offering adequate protection. For the front passenger, all critical body regions received good protection except the tibiae, which were rated adequate. The compact SUV also performed well in the side impact evaluations. Both the side movable barrier and side pole impact tests recorded good protection for the head, chest, abdomen and pelvis of the occupants, while the side pole impact assessment received an “OK” verdict.In Child Occupant Protection (COP), the Brezza scored 43 out of 49 points, earning another five-star rating. It achieved a perfect 24 out of 24 in the dynamic crash tests and 12 out of 12 for child restraint system (CRS) installation. The vehicle assessment score stood at 7 out of 13. The crash tests were carried out using rearward-facing child restraint systems for both the 18-month-old and 3-year-old dummies. Both child occupants received the maximum eight points in the frontal impact test and four points in the side impact test, highlighting strong protection for younger passengers.
