The Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) has clarified that a notice claiming the closure of CGHS Wellness Centres from August 27 to 31, 2026, due to the deployment of Medical Officers for National Eligibility cum Entrance Test-Postgraduate (NEET-PG) examination duty is fake and unauthorised.The Directorate of CGHS said an unauthorised notice carrying the name and logo of CGHS was being circulated. The notice falsely claimed that Wellness Centres would remain closed during the period.“It has come to the notice of the Directorate that an unauthorised notice bearing the name and logo of CGHS is being circulated,” the department said in its circular.The Directorate clarified that the notice was neither issued nor authorised by CGHS and that the information mentioned in it was false. It said all CGHS Wellness Centres will continue to function according to their regular working schedule from August 27 to 31.“CGHS Wellness Centres shall function during the aforesaid period in accordance with their prescribed working schedule,” the circular stated.The department also said that any deployment of CGHS personnel for official duties would be managed through appropriate administrative arrangements so that services to beneficiaries are not affected.The Additional Directors of CGHS have been asked to ensure that the clarification reaches all Wellness Centres and beneficiaries under their jurisdiction. They have also been directed to make the necessary staffing and duty arrangements to ensure uninterrupted services.

CGHS asks offices not to circulate fake notice

CGHS has instructed its offices and officials not to display or circulate the unauthorised notice.“The unauthorised notice is neither displayed nor circulated by any CGHS office or official,” the circular said.Beneficiaries and members of the public have been advised to ignore the fake notice and check CGHS-related information only through the official CGHS website, the myCGHS 2.0 application or the concerned CGHS authorities.The Directorate has also taken the misuse of the CGHS name and logo seriously. It said any information about the source or circulation of the fake notice may be reported to the Directorate for appropriate action.(with ANI inputs)
