Nissan Tekton fuel efficiency figures out: Powertrain-wise mileage

Nissan has announced the claimed fuel-efficiency figures of the newly launched Tekton SUV ahead of customer deliveries, which are scheduled to begin on July 20. The midsize SUV, priced between Rs 10.49 lakh and Rs 18.59 lakh, ex-showroom, is available with two turbo-petrol engine options and three powertrain combinations.The most fuel-efficient version of the Tekton is the 1.0-litre turbo-petrol paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox, which delivers a claimed mileage of 19.41 kmpl. Buyers opting for the more powerful 1.3-litre turbo-petrol engine will get a claimed fuel efficiency of 18.5 kmpl with the 6-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, while the same engine paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox returns 17.8 kmpl.Under the hood, the Tekton shares its engine options with the Renault Duster. The entry-level 1.0-litre, three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine produces 100 hp and 166 Nm of torque and is currently offered only with a 6-speed manual transmission.For those looking for higher performance, Nissan also offers a 1.3-litre, three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine that develops 163 hp and 280 Nm of torque. This motor can be paired with either a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 6-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.The Tekton was recently launched in India with introductory prices starting at Rs 10.49 lakh, ex-showroom. In the Indian market, the Nissan Tekton enters one of the country’s most competitive SUV segments.
