The Odisha Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE) Cell has issued a warning to candidates participating in the OJEE counselling 2026 process after identifying discrepancies in the documents submitted by the applicants. The counselling authority has asked affected candidates to immediately rectify their application details, warning that failure to do so could lead to cancellation of allotted seats during the admission process. The notice primarily concerns candidates applying for B.Tech, B.Arch, B.Plan, B.CAT, and Integrated MSc programmes whose CBSE Class 12 mark sheets display an ‘RT’ (Repeat Theory) status in qualifying subjects.

OJEE identifies discrepancies in CBSE mark sheets

According to the latest notification, the OJEE Cell found that several applications contain CBSE mark sheets showing an ‘RT’ status in one or more required subjects. Such candidates have been advised to verify their documents without delay and ensure that the information submitted during counselling is accurate. The authority has described document verification as a crucial stage in the admission process, as eligibility is determined on the basis of the records uploaded by candidates. Here is the link to the official notice for the document verification discrepancy.

Candidates with ‘RT’ status declared ineligible

The counselling committee has clarified that candidates with a pending ‘RT’ (Repeat Theory) in the required qualifying subjects do not fulfil the minimum eligibility criteria for admission. The committee has also pointed out that in a few cases, applications carrying an ‘RT’ status were marked as “Verified” during document scrutiny due to oversight. It has instructed such candidates not to continue in the counselling process.

OJEE issues strict instructions for affected candidates

The counselling authority has laid down clear directions for candidates whose applications contain the discrepancy:Candidates with a pending ‘RT’ status are not eligible for admission. If their documents have already been marked as “Verified” despite the discrepancy, they must immediately withdraw from the counselling process. If online withdrawal is not possible, candidates must inform the OJEE office in writing without delay. The committee has stressed that candidates should not ignore the notice, as the discrepancy will be examined again during later stages of admission.

Seat allotment may be cancelled during physical verification

OJEE has warned that any incorrect or ineligible information that remains in the system may result in automatic cancellation of the allotted seat during institutional or university-level physical verification. The counselling committee has made it clear that it will not be responsible for the loss of admission if candidates fail to withdraw or report the discrepancy despite the warning.
