Rajinikath’s ‘Jailer’ franchise is enjoying a blockbuster success with it becoming Tamil cinema’s highest grosser. Cinematographer Vijay Karthik Kannan has revealed that he and director Nelson Dilipkumar have been discussing the idea of presenting the entire film in monochrome.

‘Jailer’ could get a black-and-white version

In a conversation with The Hollywood Reporter, while discussing the possibility, Vijay said the idea had been on their minds for a long time. He also mentioned ‘Spider-Noir’, featuring Nicolas Cage, as an example of how a monochrome treatment could work.“Will you believe me if I tell you that Nelson and I have been dreaming of releasing Jailer in a version that is completely in black and white? I mean, if they could do it with Nicholas Cage’s Spider-Noir, why can’t we try something like that? Nelson is a huge monochrome man too,” he said. However, it must be mentioned that the team has not announced a release date or confirmed that the black-and-white version will be made available.
