Ram Charan has successfully undergone surgery for his wrist injury in Coimbatore on Sunday. The actor’s injury worsened during the shooting of his latest release, ‘Peddi’ which is a sports action drama. As per the latest updates, the surgery was successful and the actor is now recovering well.

Earlier, this morning Ram Charan was spotted arriving in Coimbatore for the procedure. According to a report by India Today, the ‘RRR’ star was accompanied by his father Chiranjeevi, mother Surekha and wife Upasana Konidela. The family stayed with him throughout his treatment and recovery.

The report further suggests that Dr. S. Rajasekaran, Chairman of Ganga Hospital led the surgery. As the injury was complex, internationally known hand and wrist specialist Dr Alejandro Badia from Miami also joined the medical team.The operation was performed by Dr S. Rajasekaran, Dr Alejandro Badia, Dr Praveen Bharadwaj and their team of specialists. The doctors confirmed that the procedure went smoothly and that Ram Charan is recovering well after the surgery.According to the hospital’s statement, Ram Charan has been advised to take complete rest and follow a structured rehabilitation programme before returning to work.The doctors have recommended that he stay away from professional commitments for a few weeks. He will resume shooting only after receiving medical clearance.

About ‘RC17’

Meanwhile, Ram Charan will be next working with ‘Pushpa’ fame director Sukumar on the tentatively titled film, ‘RC17’. The film marks Ram Charan’s second project with Sukumar after they worked in the 2019 film ‘Rangasthalam’ which turned out to be a massive hit. It is imperative to mention Sukumar was a key figure in the making of ‘Peddi’.

‘Peddi’ directed by Buchi Babu Sana, minted over Rs 341.57 crore worldwide and made Rs 244.34 crore in net collections across 123,607 shows in India, as per trade analyst Sacnilk.
