Nitesh Tiwari‘s ‘Ramayana: Part One’ is likely to open in theatres on November 5. The film will reportedly have paid previews in India a day earlier, on November 4. It stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Goddess Sita and Yash as Ravana.

‘Ramayana: Part 1’ overseas release schedule

According to a Pinkvilla report, Australia, New Zealand, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Germany, the rest of Europe and Latin America are currently scheduled to open the film on November 5. The UK, South Africa and Mauritius are reportedly listed for November 6.China, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan and Hong Kong have no confirmed dates yet. As per the report, these markets could either join the worldwide release or go for a later rollout. It also added that the dates are not fully final and may still change as the global plan is worked out.

A two-part saga

The mythological epic is being made in two parts. ‘Ramayana: Part Two’ is scheduled to reach theatres on Diwali 2027.

Ranbir Kapoor on the responsibility of playing Lord Rama

In a behind-the-scenes video shared by the makers in September, Ranbir spoke about the weight of playing Lord Rama. The clip also offered a look at his physical transformation and the scale of the film.Ranbir said, “Lord Rama’s biggest strength is not his bow; it is his Kshama (forgiving nature) – his ability to forgive. Ye role nahi hai. It’s not ki mujhe ek film offer hui hai aur role exciting hai. Ye ek zimmedaari hai (This is not a role. It’s not as if I was offered a film and the role is exciting. It’s a responsibility).”He further said, “Everything comes down to the belief and simplicity of the individual playing Lord Rama. Every day I reminded myself that my job was not to be worthy of this role. My job was to be worthy of the faith that people place in this story.”

Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, the film features Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, Yash, Sunny Deol, and Ravie Dubey in key roles. The star cast includes Indira Krishnan, Sheeba Chaddha, Lara Dutta, Rakul Preet Singh, Arun Govil, Vivek Oberoi, and Kajal Aggarwal.
