Raveena Tandon criticises protests in some states which were hijacked by hooligans, political parties, some just wanting to make reels: 'Ultimately, it was a victory for the rightful demands'

While protests at Janter Manter by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) against the NEET paper leek, have taken over social media and people are now celebrating Dharmendra Pradhan‘s resignation, actress Raveena Tandon has applauded the peaceful demonstrations in Mizoram while expressing concern that similar movements in some regions were overshadowed by political groups, unruly elements, and people seeking social media attention. She indirectly criticised the CJP led protests while appreciating the peaceful protests in Mizoram as an example. Sharing a series of photos on Instagram, Raveena said the recent protests had renewed her optimism about the future, adding that she hoped students’ voices would finally lead to meaningful reforms in the education system. She wrote, “Happy and Proud that voices are finally being heard, #studentsprotest #Rishikeshprotest , and there is hope. Till now environmental/ community animals / wildlife / deforestation protests were reaching dead ends and losing battles. People are awakening and the future generations have to realise that this is the only planet we have. There is no Planet B. This is it. This is what we have to save for their future. The actor went on to commend the discipline displayed by students in Mizoram, saying their conduct set an example for others.“The peaceful protests in Mizoram and other states have led by example. Salute to Them. Unfortunately, some states the peaceful student movement was hijacked by hooligans, political parties and some there just for opportunities to make reels and get some limelight. Ultimately, it was a Victory for the rightful demands.”Raveena also denounced the violence and destruction of public property witnessed during some protests, stating that such actions did not reflect the intentions of the student movement. She wrote, “The violence and damaging public property was definitely unruly elements at work. Those Non students could’ve derailed this protest. Nonetheless, after this hoping and praying for a positive change in our education system, eradicating corruption in even our state run schools. Easy access to education for all. Practising my Freedom Of Speech. Your option could be different , But I respect that too. Jab padhega India , Badhega India. Jai Hind . Jai, Hind Ki Janta Awaam #indiafirst.” The nationwide demonstrations were organised by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) following allegations of irregularities in the NEET-UG 2026 examination, including claims that the question paper had been leaked. Thousands of students assembled at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar as well as in several other states, demanding accountability, reforms to the examination process, and strict action against those responsible.
