Salman Khan was undergoing Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy, getting his scalp injected while eating biryani recalls producer Shailendra Singh: 'Price to pay to be a star'

Film producer Shailendra Singh recently shared a memorable anecdote involving Salman Khan, recalling an evening at the actor’s Galaxy Apartments residence when he witnessed him casually undergoing a hair treatment while enjoying a plate of biryani.Shailendra revisited one of their regular Monday night gatherings from years ago. He remembered arriving at Salman’s home for a meeting and noticing one of the actor’s unusual habits—eating his meals while looking into a mirror.“I went to Salman for a meeting at his place in Galaxy Apartments. In those days, we used to have Monday night parties. He was sitting at the dining table, eating, and looking at himself in the mirror. He likes to eat while looking in the mirror. There’s a small table in the kitchen with a mirror in front, so you’re sitting next to him, but you’re actually talking through the mirror,” he said during a conversation with Cyrus Broacha. The producer said the situation became even more bizarre when a man entered the room carrying medical equipment and began treating Salman without interrupting the conversation.“He’s sitting there eating biryani—you know Salman, he enjoys his food, especially after a few drinks. Suddenly, this strange-looking guy walks in, puts on gloves, takes out a needle and starts injecting his scalp. I’m watching all of this in the mirror and thinking, ‘What the f* is going on here?’”Curious about what he was witnessing, Shailendra asked Salman, who calmly explained the procedure.“He just said, ‘There’s a price to pay to be a star, bro.’ He kept eating while the treatment continued.”Shailendra later discovered that Salman was undergoing Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy, a treatment commonly used to promote hair growth by using plasma derived from a person’s own blood.“At that time, I didn’t know what it was. I think everyone does it now—Hrithik does it, everybody does it. As you grow older and your hair starts thinning, you have to do these things.”This is not the first time Shailendra has opened up about his friendship with Salman. Earlier this year, during an interview with Siddharth Kannan, he spoke about knowing the actor long before he became one of Bollywood’s biggest stars.According to Shailendra, the two became friends during the days when he lived in Cuffe Parade, where Salman would frequently visit to meet his then-girlfriend, Shaheen Jaffery. While describing the actor as generous by nature, he also reflected on how the people around Salman had changed over the years.“Salman and I go back to Cuffe Parade, where I used to live. He used to come there to meet his first girlfriend, Shaaheen Jaffery. Salman’s problem is that he is all heart. He’s an awesome guy, but the company he keeps is strange,” Shailendra remarked. He further shared his thoughts on how fame had altered Salman’s life, saying success had made the actor more guarded.“Salman is a tiger, but now he’s tamed. He was born a tiger in the jungle; now he’s a tiger in a zoo. Success makes you cautious, even fearful. Then people surround you, constantly telling you that you’re the boss and everyone else is wrong.”Looking back at their bond, Shailendra revealed that they had a standing tradition of spending Monday nights together during Salman’s peak years.“For three years, Salman and I had a tradition. Every Monday night, we would party together in Bandra,” Shailendra recalled. The producer also spoke about how their friendship eventually came to an end. He said he had approached Salman with a commercial film titled ‘Captain’, hoping to collaborate, but the meeting left him disappointed because several other people had been invited to the discussion.“Our friendship was very strong, so I went to him and said I wanted to make this film with him—a full-fledged commercial project. But when I went to meet him, he had called several people into the meeting. That was my last meeting with Salman. I felt deeply insulted,” Shailendra said.
