SBI recruitment 2026: Registration underway for Trade Finance Officer posts; check eligibility, direct link to apply

The State Bank of India (SBI) has invited online applications for Trade Finance Officer posts under its Specialist Cadre Officer recruitment on a regular basis. The recruitment drive has a total of 35 vacancies across two grades. The online application process has started on August 29, 2026, and eligible candidates can apply until September 19, 2026.The recruitment is for Trade Finance Officer roles in the International Banking Group (IBG). There are 14 vacancies in Junior Management Grade Scale-I (JMGS-I) and 21 vacancies in Middle Management Grade Scale-II (MMGS-II). Candidates who meet the eligibility requirements can apply for both posts.

SBI Trade Finance Officer vacancies

For the JMGS-I post, the age limit is 21 to 30 years as on July 31, 2026. SBI has notified 14 vacancies for this grade, including 2 for Scheduled Caste (SC), 1 for Scheduled Tribe (ST), 3 for Other Backward Classes (OBC), 1 for Economically Weaker Section (EWS) and 7 for Unreserved (UR) candidates. One horizontal vacancy is available for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD).For the MMGS-II post, candidates should be 23 to 32 years old as on July 31, 2026. There are 21 vacancies, including 3 for SC, 1 for ST, 5 for OBC, 2 for EWS and 10 for UR candidates. One horizontal vacancy is available for PwBD candidates.SBI has suggested Hyderabad and Kolkata as the places of posting. However, these locations are only indicative. Selected candidates may be posted anywhere in India at the bank’s discretion.

SBI Trade Finance Officer eligibility

Candidates applying for either post must have a graduation degree in any discipline from a government-recognised university or institution. They must also hold a Certification in Forex Operations from the Indian Institute of Banking and Finance (IIBF). The certificate must be dated on or before July 31, 2026.SBI has also listed several preferred certifications. These include Certificate for Documentary Credit Specialists (CDCS), Certificate for Specialists in Demand Guarantees (CSDG), Certified Trade Finance Professional (CTFP), Global Trade Certificate (GTC) and certificates in International Trade Finance from the London Institute of Banking & Finance (LIBF), IIBF or ICC Academy, as applicable.For JMGS-I, applicants must have at least one year of post-qualification experience in Trade Finance processing and operations in an officer or official role in a scheduled commercial bank. Experience as a maker is preferred.For MMGS-II, the experience requirement is higher. Candidates need at least three years of post-qualification experience in Trade Finance processing in an officer or official role in a scheduled commercial bank.

SBI Trade Finance Officer salary

The JMGS-I post carries a pay scale of Rs 48,480 to Rs 85,920, while the MMGS-II post has a pay scale of Rs 64,820 to Rs 93,960. The probation period for the posts is six months. Selected officers will also be eligible for benefits such as dearness allowance, house rent allowance, city compensatory allowance, provident fund, National Pension System, leave fare concession and medical facilities, as per bank rules.

What will selected candidates do?

The job involves handling Trade Finance transactions and related documents. For the JMGS-I maker role, responsibilities include entering transaction data, uploading documents, checking documents before approval and entering screening information into the relevant systems.The MMGS-II checker role involves checking transaction details, verifying documents, carrying out sanctions and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) screening, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. The role also includes responsibilities related to sanctions screening and transaction approvals.Both roles will involve shift work. The notified shifts currently range from 6 am to 3 pm, 9 am to 6 pm, 1:30 pm to 10:30 pm and 9 pm to 6 am. SBI has said that shift timings may change according to its requirements.

SBI recruitment 2026 selection process

The selection process will consist of shortlisting and an interview. Meeting the minimum eligibility requirements does not guarantee an interview call. SBI’s shortlisting committee will decide the parameters and shortlist candidates based on the bank’s requirements.The interview will carry 100 marks. The final merit list will be prepared in descending order based only on interview scores. If candidates have the same marks at the cut-off point, the older candidate will be ranked higher.Interview call letters will be sent by email or uploaded on SBI’s website. The bank will not send hard copies.

Documents required for SBI application

Candidates will need to upload documents including their recent photograph and signature, detailed resume, identity proof, date of birth proof, degree certificate, IIBF certification in Forex Operations and experience certificates.Where applicable, candidates must also provide caste or PwBD certificates, preferred certification documents, the required biodata form, Form-16 or offer letter from the current employer, a No Objection Certificate (NOC) for eligible government or public sector employees, and the mandatory undertaking.

Candidates can apply through the SBI careers website. They need to log in to the current openings section, select advertisement number CRPD/SCO/2026-27/15, download and read the detailed advertisement, and then complete the online application.The application window will remain open from August 29 to September 19, 2026. SBI has advised candidates not to wait until the last date to apply, as heavy website traffic or other technical issues could affect submission.
